Facebook Launches Audience Insights for Ads Manager
May 8, 2014 - 1 minute readToday, Facebook, which has always been ahead of the pack when it comes to self-serve demographic ad targeting, began rolling out a new tool called Audience Insights to US-based Ads Manager users. It will become available to international users as well in the coming months.
Audience Insights will give marketers priceless data that can be used to serve up ads and content to the right people, at the right time, including:
- Demographics — age and gender, lifestyle, education, relationship status, job role, and household size.
- Page likes — the top pages people like in different categories, like women’s apparel or sports.
- Location and language — where do people live, and what languages do they speak?
- Facebook usage — how frequently are people in your target audience logging onto Facebook, and what device(s) they are using when they log on?
- Purchases activity — past purchase behavior (i.e. heavy buyers of women’s apparel) and purchase methods (i.e., in-store, online).”
With insane amounts of money being spent acquiring online consumer data, Facebook providing this information to the public for free is no doubt a big win for internet marketers and product developers.
